For over 20 years, KW Cares has served Keller Williams associates and their qualifying family members during times of hardship1 due to sudden emergency to ensure that everyone in our KW family feels supported, safe and valued.

1 Hardship is defined as a situation in which a person or family can no longer manage the financial strain caused by a sudden emergency.

Applying for a grant

At KW, we’re one family. And family takes care of each other. As an associate, you and your dependent family members are eligible to apply for grants from KW Cares when facing financial hardship due to a sudden emergency, such as accidents, house fires, medical emergencies, funeral and burial expenses, and natural disaster relief.

Grant Eligibility Requirements

Active Keller Williams agents or staff (associates) or Keller Williams Realty, LLC employees (employees) and their dependent family members across Canada, the U.S., and U.S. territories qualify for Catastrophic Hardship, Emergency, and Emergency Disaster Grants. Please note, KW Cares is unable to give grants for:

  • Residential or nonresidential substance abuse facilities or treatment
  • Unconventional treatment for cancer or other serious illnesses
  • Legal issues such as divorces, child custody issues, adoptions, etc.
  • Debt relief, compensation for lost wages, or to bridge gaps in income unrelated to a specific emergency

All associates or employees must have an “active” associate profile in the KW Command Directory.

Qualified individuals listed above who are faced with financial hardship due to unexpected major emergencies are eligible to apply for KW Cares grants.

For Catastrophic Hardship Grants, Emergency Grants, and Emergency Disaster Grants, applicants must have $60,000 or less in their combined checking and savings accounts to qualify. For Catastrophic Hardship Grants and Emergency Grants, applicants must also have less than $500,000 in non-retirement investment accounts.

  • Catastrophic Hardship Grants are for events such as a medical illness, an injury related to an accident, or major repairs due to a housing disaster.
  • Emergency Grants are available for immediate, critical needs following a localized housing disaster, the funeral of a qualified family member, air ambulance when traveling abroad, or relocation assistance for survivors of domestic violence.
  • During large-scale natural disasters, KW Cares provides Emergency Disaster Grants to qualified individuals to help with immediate, critical needs such as food, temporary shelter, lost clothing and personal care items, transportation, and other basic needs.
